How much does the Gastric Bypass cost?
The surgical fee is $5,850 and the hospital charge can be obtained by contacting CMC-NEMC (Donna Penninger @ 704-403-3372 )for the gastric bypass is approximately $16,000 and $12,000 for the adjustable gastric banding. There is no additional cost for the Fobi Pouch bypass. We do accept insurance but the extent to which your insurance policy will cover these costs varies according to your policy. After your initial appointment a letter is sent to your insurance company explaining the procedure and the indications for the procedure. A request for coverage is made in the letter however a number of insurance companies will no longer pre-approve the gastric bypass and as a result a down payment will be necessary. Insurance contracts are constantly changing and a co-payment may be required as well.
