How much does the Canadian Red Cross spend on its programs?
For the year ended March 31, 2006, the Canadian Red Cross spent $226 million on program activities ( $40 millions of these funds were used directly to support Asia Tsunami Recovery efforts). The majority of these funds were spent in Canada to support our work in Disaster Services, First Aid, Water Safety and Community Health Services. Significant funds were also spent on our International Humanitarian Assistance Programs. These programs assist people in developing countries who are faced with natural disasters, armed conflict and ongoing development needs. More detailed information about the Canadian Red Crosss revenues and expenses is available in our Financial Statements.
