How much does the benefit package cost in Rwanda?
The total cost for the package (primary and complementary) was estimated at FRW 2000 per person, per year (i.e. US$ 3.54), with FRW 1000 paid by the insured persons (i.e. US$ 1.77) and FRW 1000 state-funded (partial subsidy). The poorest, orphans and people living with HIV/AIDS are exempted from paying contributions (complete subsidy), thanks to external funds (donors).
