How much does Tanzanite cost?
The price of tanzanite in the past has varied considerably due to unstable supply. However, at the moment consumers can expect to pay between US$700 and US$1200/carat for legitimate, certified, top grade “Triple A” Faceted Tanzanite, depending on color, cut, carat and clarity. Generally the larger a stone the higher the cost per carat for the same color, clarity, and cut. Once a faceted tanzanite gemstone is set into jewelry the cost increases to between US$2000 and US$3200/carat for top quality gems. Tanzanite is approximately a third of the price of Sapphire.
