How much does Measure H cost businesses?
Measure H imposes a $0.15 per square foot tax on commercial/industrial parcels. There is a cap of $9500.00 per parcel, which effectively means that parcels of 63,333 square feet and larger pay $9500. Measure H also imposes a floor on commercial/industrial parcels that are less than 2000 square feet; these pay a fixed rate of $120. Institutional properties (such as churches and some properties owned and used for public welfare purposes) are exempt from the parcel tax – as are properties that are not otherwise subject to state property taxes.
