How much does it cost to run Movember?
In 2008 Movember raised a staggering $2.4 million in support of PCC, with over 9,400 participants. The costs for marketing, promotional materials, event venue rentals etc amounted to approximately 25% of the campaign gross. We worked hard to secure as much media attention (i.e. free promotion) as we can get in lieu of a paid advertising budget. PCC staff efforts (which are significant) do not factor into campaign costs. We work on Movember in addition to our standard roster of fundraising events and programs that we do each year. We very much believe in Movember and its potential, and we’re putting in the extra effort to make it a success.
