How much does it cost to replace a bad fuel pump for a 1999 chevy silverado???
I own a shop, and have done many of these. Depending on where you live, the price of parts & labor differ quite a bit, so what I would do is call a parts store to confirm the cost of the pump, and then add the labor to that figure. Average labor is about $75.00 per hour, and it takes 2-3 hours to do the job, so you are looking at about $120.00 for the pump (depending on the area) and 3 hours labor. This should put you at about $350.00, but as I said it really depends. You might call some local shops in your area, and see what they charge to do the job. You could even get the price down there to about $200.00, or less. There “is” that big of a difference in the area you live in, so its best to shop around, as you could be lucky, and find a shop thats needing business, thus would be willing to do it a lot cheaper if they are really slow. Glad to help out, good Luck!!!
