How much does it cost to prepare for a competition? Where does the money go?
It can be very expensive to compete in a show. On the low end, it’s about $2,000. On the high end, you can plan to spend as much as $5,000 for one show. It all comes down to how much you can do yourself. There is airfare, hotel, food, entry fee, and outfits/swimsuit expenses that need to be covered for each show. If you need to pay a choreographer and trainer to help you, that can run an average of $1500 a month. The expenses can really add up and without a sponsor, many girls are forced to stop competing.
