How much does it cost to live in Key West?
Unfortunately it is expensive. The biggest problem with living in Key West is that it is expensive to live here and the jobs don’t pay much. This inverse relationship often causes people to leave here. For an aparment you are doing ok for yourself if you can find a 1 bedroom place under $1,000. If you want roomates then you might be able to find a 2 or 3 bedroom for $600 per person. Q: Where should I live in Key West? A: The two main parts of Key West are Old Town and New Town. Old Town is the preferred place to live. Old town is near all the fun stuff in Key West. New town is where the mall and Supermarkets are. Bahama Village is a section of Old Town. You might be able to find a cheap place in Bahama Village but some people don’t like Bahama Village because of drugs and crime. Personally we don’t think Bahama Village is as bad as everyone thinks.
