Joining a fraternity or sorority can be a very large investment. The monetary amount varies among organizations and is not a flat rate. Dues, or membership fees, are usually paid each semester or yearly. This amount can change each time depending on anticipated or incured expenses and the number of members. Most NPHC undergraduate chapters charge an initial membership fee significantly higher than the semester or annual dues. For example, joining initially may cost around $1000.00 and each subsequent year will cost $300.00.
