How much does it cost to clear land of trees?
The cost of clearing land depends on the number and sizes of trees, it can vary greatly. Some property is mostly brush, which is the least expensive. Large trees take more time and make huge piles which are expensive to haul off. It’s much cheaper to burn them. A low estimate in brushing per acre would be $500 to $700. Clearing in heavier timber could be double or more. On large acreage, when cords per acre is sufficient, the timber is usually sold to loggers and clear cut before clearing, and the stumps left to rot for 3 years. Then stumps are easily extracted, and clearing would be partially paid for with funds from timber sold.
