It’s actually not that expensive, especially if you’re doing all the work yourself. I suggest you go to a lock smith, not you local hardware store. That way you can get good locks and have a few extra keys made while you’re there. You could also have them made so you can use the same key for both doors. You want to get a dead bolt lock with the bold part that is as long as you can get it, that way it’s harder for someone to break in. You also want to make sure that the striker plate, the metal thingy attached to your door jam, has VERY long skrews, so that the screws actually go right through the door frame and into something substancial. This will make it harder for the bad guy to break in. You will probably have to get the screws at your hardware store.
