How much does it cost to build a pond?
Prices vary from the small farm livestock pond, or back yard pond which may cost $1000, to one half acre ponds costing $7500 or more. It depends on the depth and where dirt is moved. If surrounding ground elevation is raised with excavated dirt, the pond can usually be pushed with a dozer, which is the least expensive method, but drought conditions which hardens the ground prohibits this. Cost is greater to load it on a truck and haul to another location.
