How much does it cost to adopt a pet?
Adoption fees are $40 per cat or dog. The adoption fee includes the cost of the animal’s sterilization surgery, current vaccinations, county license, and microchip. The microchip serves as a permanent form of identification. The county license must be renewed whenever the animal receives its rabies vaccination as required by law.
The cost for a cat is $35 and for a dog is $40. All animals adopted from the Animal Shelter are microchipped when adopted out. This ensures the identity of your animal and helps return the animals to the rightful owner should they be lost. All animals can be microchipped for a $15 fee, regardless of where they were adopted from.
Our adoptions fees are between 50.00 and 100.00. For this fee your future pet is check for heartworm (dogs), leukemia (cats), given distemper and rabies shots, wormed and spayed or neutered before adoption. We have a simple adoption form for you to fill out. If you’re adopting a puppy under 4 mon. of age we will allow you to adopt before it is neutered/spayed but will arrange for the procedure before you take them home. You might wonder how we can afford to do all this with our pets. We are able to do this because of our generous members donations that help offset the cost of our veterinary fees. We usually invest $150 – $200 per pet. These fees increase if a pet has heartworm, requires grooming or dental work, or any other expensive treatments. You can help by donating through PayPal on our home page.
