With my dog it cost £6 a week to feed him so £24 a month I also put £150 a month into an account for vet fees as i could not get insurance for him I also put £ 10 a month into another account to cover his worming and vaccination costs I bought him treats which could £7 a month

I’ve a 10 year old greyhound who is on a prescription food so this is what it costs me food – £100 Pet Insurance – £28 VIP Plan at Vets which includes routine vaccinations, wormers, flea treatment – £13 My Shih Tzu is 2 and so far less expensive but makes it more costly when you count groomers, etc. food approx £12 for a nice quality Pet Insurance £10 VIP Plan £5 Groomer £35 – £40 every 4-6 weeks These costs don’t include what I spend on treats and toys, etc. which probably totals about £20-£30 a month between them. I’m also lucky that I can take my dogs to my parents who watch them while I am at work otherwise I’d be another £50ish per week for dog walker. You’ve also got smaller costs which you don’t notice so much as you don’t purchase often such as bathing and grooming products, poo bags, winter coats (the proper ones for dogs who need protection, not the faffy fashion ones), beds and towels, food and water bowls, etc.
