Under our I.C.B.O. approval, Ever-Shake has an applied weight of 297 pounds per square. (10 x 10 Roof Area) HOW DO YOU ATTACH EVER-SHAKE TO THE ROOF? We have approved two types of fasteners for Ever-Shake. The first is a 5d zinc coated box nail that is applied pneumatically. The second is a 16 gauge galvanized staple with a minimum length of 1-3/4 inch, which is also pneumatically installed. The use of stainless steel staples is highly recommended in areas of high exposure to salty environments. (Hand nailing is NOT recommended). HOW DOES THE INSTALLATION OF EVER-SHAKE COMPARE TO CEDAR SHAKES AND OTHER SIMULATED SHAKE PRODUCTS? For the most part, Ever-Shake installs very much like cedar shakes and is much less demanding than the installation of other simulated shake products.
