How much does ERH cost?
Like any remediation technology, the cost of ERH is site-specific; however, its tolerance for varying subsurface conditions makes it more robust and predictable than other in situ technologies. A typical commercial remediation of trichloroethene (TCE) in soil and groundwater will typically cost $250,000 plus $40 to $70 per cubic yard for a 99% reduction in average contaminant concentrations. Thin “pancake” sites cost more per cubic yard because piping and cables are spread over a larger area. High levels of total organic carbon or the presence of co-contaminants can also increase the cost.
