The client is charged license fees for run time system depending on the number of devices containing this software and thus being programmable with CoDeSys. The license fees for the run time system are based on the hardware platform and purchase volume. The programming system for OEMs and end users is for free. The client benefits in that he or she purchases no more than the number of licenses needed, and the cost of a run time system compares reasonably to the price of the processor equipped with it.
