How Much Does A Walrus Weigh?
Newborn walruses weigh about 100 pounds and are about 4.5 feet long. As they mature, they are nurtured by their mothers milk which is very rich and high in fat. This helps the young grow quickly and stay insulated from cold water temperatures. Mature walruses vary in weight depending on the gender. Adult female walruses weigh about 1,900 lbs and are 9 feet long, while adult male walruses can weigh over 2,700 lbs and are about 11 feet long.
