How much does a teacup chihuahua cost?
Go to a shelter or petfinder.com and adopt a chi or a mix breed chi. If they are telling you it is a teacup, that means runt. And to Pretty Woman, who paid $1000. for a sickly, runt dog with a fancy name: Do you have any idea how many shelter dogs your thousand bucks could have saved. I don’t mean to offend, but you’re not real bright if you truly spent that kind of money on a “designer” dog. I feel sorry for people like you who feel they have to have a “stylish” pet instead of a healthy, loving mutt from a shelter. The AKC doesn’t even recognize the title “teacup” so boy, you were taken. And to Patrick M–Do you know the website you suggested is promoting dogs who are probably from puppy mills. For every dog sold on that website – 10 or more shelter dogs will DIE. Shame on you.
No such thing, just an undersized, not necessarily healthy chihuahua (runt) with a made-up name by breeders trying to con you and get your money. Go to a chihuahua rescue (search online) and adopt one. They will know the dog’s personality, health, and what kind of home is best for it. You will get a good dog, ideal for your home. Save a life, don’t encourage poor breeding.
There is no such thing as a “teacup”. That is a term that breeders use to sell undersized, tiny, not healthy chihuahuas. Typically, bad breeders, petstores , and puppy mills will sell so called “teacup” chihuahaus for 1000-2000 bucks. Why do that when you can get a fun loving and adorable chihuahua from a shelter. www.petfinder.com has sooo many chihuahuas and other dogs that are great caniadates for adoption. The adoption agencies have evauluated each dogs temperment so that he/she will be a perfect fit for their homes. If you buy a teacup, she will have tiny lungs, a tiny heart, and undersized organs. She will have to be supervised carefully and not given much exercise lest she collaspe. PLEASE ADOPT! If you really want a puppy, go find a reputable breeder. Read some chihuahua care books and do some good research about chihuahuas. Go to google.com and search what is wrong with teacup chihuahuas. You will find article after article about them.
There is no “TEA CUP” Chihuahua, if your “breeder” tells you it is one, don’t buy from them. Unfortunately, what many people do is call it a “TEA CUP” and even guarantee it but as you fall in love with it and it grow to 6 or so lbs, how you gonna take it back? Standard Chihuahuas, show quality run 3-6 lbs PERIOD. I have one or two pure breeds that are big ,6.5 – 7 lbs. Also, out of ONE LITTER, we got white, black, tan, and mix colored Chihuahuas. “Deer” and “apple heads”. Don’t believe the hype.
