How much does a school district influence property values?
Location is by far the most important consideration in value for a house. A big part of that location is how good are the schools perceieved to be. I have been a full time real estate broker for 30 years, and have found a huge number of people have a specific school they want their kids to attend and will not buy a house in any other school area. So I think schools are a huge portion of your homes value. When you buy you should pay attention to that and while you live there, even if you don’t have children I think you should do what you can to make sure the schools are as high quality as possible.
