How much does a permit cost?
Three fees may be applied to any one permit: the minimum and standard permit fee, a recording fee, and an after the fact (ATF) fee. The minimum and standard permit fee: All permits have a minimum permit fee of twenty ($20.00) dollars when the project costs for labor and material* is less than two thousand eight hundred fifty-eight ($2858.00) dollars. A calculation of $7.00 is applied to every thousand ($1000.00) dollars of estimated cost of construction (ECC) that exceeds the minimum cost. For example; $3000.00 x .007 = $21.00, etc., which keeps increasing as the ECC increases. The exception to this rule is with regards to single-family home projects and their recording fees listed below. That depends on what size you are looking to build. A typical garage permit cost somewhere between $100 and $200. Q: Do you get the permit or do I? A: We will get the permit for you at a cost of $250.00 plus the price of the permit. We provide the building plans, but we need a plot plan from the you. Q: What about an HOA? A: We have buildings that can be fitted to meet the needs of a HOA. There is also a stucco siding available to help match your house. Q: Are they prefabricated at another location? A: Alternative Portable Buildings does not prefabricate any of our buildings. All of the construction is done from scratch on site.Q: How much room do I need? A: For the Ranch Style we ask that you leave us a minimum of 2 foot clearance around the location where the building is going to be installed to allow us to work. Dutch Barns and Classic Barns need a minimum of 38″ of clearance around the building. We do all of the work on site so we need to be able to move freely around the building.
