A. A typical 5kW domestic scale system will cost around £20,000 and generate about 8,000kWh per year. A typical house will use between 4,000kWh and 7,000kWh per year. In effect the system could generate more energy than is needed. However the high initial cost makes micro hydro prohibitively priced for the moment.
