How much does a kitty cost in a pet shop?
A better question would be why on earth would you WANT to buy a cat from a pet shop? Pet shop cats come from kitty “mills” where kittens are churned out with no regard to their health and the focus entirely on making money. Kittens sold are often quite sickly and end up costing you hundreds on vet bills and even dying. And you’re also supporting the breeding of cats for profit. If you want a kitten or cat have your parents take you to your local shelter. For an adoption fee of about $100 you’ll get a cat or kitten that’s already spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, deflead, dewormed and microchipped. Getting all that done on your own will cost you $300-$400. So not only will you be saving an animal’s life by adopting you’ll be saving yourself a LOT of money over a pet store or “free” kitten or cat.
