How much does a graphic card with pixel shader 2.0 or 3.0 cost?
hi there before you buy any new graphic card you need to discover which card your motherboard supports,i say this as some pentium 4 based motherboards use the older agp x8 bus (slot) however some use the newer pci-express x16 bus to discover which one you have download a helpful utility called “gpu-z” from http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Sys… once downloaded you then need to run the file ( no need to install ) then when the small windows appears look for the mox marked “bus interface”…and whatever its says there is the type of card your pc supports and to make this task easier i will recommend two of each card( 2 x pci-express and 2 x agp x8 ) so here we go 1) Palit GeForce GT 240 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card ( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc… ) …..th
Not very much, these shader models were several years ago. Nvidia 6600 and higher has shader model 3.0 ATI x1xxx or higher has shader model 3.0 some X800 were also shader model 3.0. I’m assuming you have a slot on your motherboard that will support a graphics card, find out what slot it is probably AGP judging by your specs, then shop for cards with the corresponding slot.
