How much does a forensic chemist make a year?

0

Forensic chemist is a broad term. Different places classify differently. In general a forensic chemist can be someone who works in a forensic lab as a qualified examiner/ analyst. These jobs can be for the FBI, ATF, local agencies, state agencies, and private industry. Each position has different pay ranges. It matters greatly on the location. Most agencies try to stay competitive taking into account cost of living. For example a forensic chemist in Hawaii may start at 70k and one in New Hampshire may start at 30k. The huge difference is in the cost of living… they may actually be very comparable. For the most part the range could be about 35k to 90k. It all depends on the position and the level of experience. Don’t expect to start out anywhere close to 90k. With some experience it may be the high 40’s.
