How much does a convention sketch cost?
That’s a complicated question. 🙂 Custom art is like any other custom industry; ergo – time = $. Here are some rough examples. If you just want a Batman head, likely $100. If you want Batman’s whole body inked, maybe $150-250. If you want Batman spot-colored or doin’ something specific (juggling?) that’s likely $200-$350. & if ya want full-on color it’s anywhere from $200 (for a head or bust) to $600 (full body or extra color work.) Special requests make it cost more. We had a request last year for Dawn on an Akira motorcycle. Joe drew it, & it was one badass, tightly-inked piece. It wound up being $550, though it was “just” a B & W inked piece, as it had taken Joe quite awhile to do. Multiple characters make it cost more. There was a request for Vampirella catfighting Buffy, & both of them tearing each other’s tops off, in full color – that was like $700 or $800. I might not have time to do it today – gotta pack & have lots else to do – but I will eventually add pictures to this post
