How much does a boiler cost?
This is a common question for Do-It-Yourselfers (DIY’s). As DIY’s are more often homeowners with no trade experience, they can make assumptions about trade practices that are more dream-like than in the realm of reality. Dream #1: Installation companies are all employees. That is, like much of the corporate world, everybody has a salary that depends on their showing up; but not necessarily doing anything. They are available for whatever role they do in the corporation whenever an occasion arrives; but if they don’t actually fix or install anything, they get paid anyways, including time off, pension, medical benefits, etc. Thus a contractor installer is ASSUMED to be in the same position. However, the most usual contractor is sole ownership where NOTHING is paid for until it is sold. Time spent selling and explaining makes the deal, but is a cost of operation until the installation is complete. There is NO pay for time not used to install or repair a machine. From the sale, ALL costs mu
