How much do Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State make per home football game?
Penn State was going to realize $5 million for our game with them this season. My budget for football for the entire year is $5.4 million. They have 95,000 season ticket holders. We have like 17,000 (11,000 public and 6,000 student ticket holders). IU ranks second in the Big Ten in home basketball attendance (14,851) behind Wisconsin (17,230). It used to draw over 17,000. How do you see that? Our men’s basketball program is also a major revenue generator and we’re getting that back on track. We’ve gone from 4,000 student season tickets last year to over 6,500 this year. We’re getting it back where it needs to be attendance-wise. Is there a chance you would cut sports to reduce costs? I’m not going to take the easy way out and drop sports to move us up (in average sport expenditure) that way. I’m committed to keeping the sports we have.
