How Much Do Open Classroom Children Realistically Mix With Students In The Traditional Program?

Our students are as involved with the traditional students as they choose to be. We encourage our students to reach out and include everyone, and the majority do. Open Classroom teachers collaborate with traditional teachers to plan such things as public speaking, study buddies, mentoring, and field trips. Open Classroom students share recess, lunch, student council, band, after-school programs, and school-wide grade level activities with students in the rest of the school. However, children will choose to play with their friends, and the majority of Open Classroom students have close friends who are also in Open Classroom.
