How much do newspaper advertisements cost?

1/2 page in the Sun, $8982 Juliet Herald, $1152 These are starting points, open rates. You would have to look through all their options to decide what you want to do and whether there are discounts available. These are general rates and you may be eligible for retail or non-profit rates. (If placed by an ad agency, the newspaper would give 15% commission back, so you might find net non-commissionable rates.) Media buyers are able to negotiate discounts off of the rate card but that will likely be difficult to do if you are planning to place just one add. Go to the website of each paper. Look for a link to “Advertise with us” or some such. You are looking for “rates”, “rate card” or “media kit”. The Sun Times site had links in their media kit to their regional affiliates. I gave the rates I found just to give you a ballpark number to think about. You’ll have to dig through the many many options to get exact rates. Good luck.
