How much do Medical Radiation Technologists make?
The standards of practice define the level of competence which MRTs must meet in order to safely practise medical radiation technology in Ontario. These standards cover the technical aspects of the procedure and also how patients are to be treated. The MRT who is assisting patients by performing an imaging or treatment procedure is expected to meet these standards, and the College makes sure that MRTs work with the public according to these standards. Failing to meet the standards of practice of the profession is considered professional misconduct under the professional misconduct regulations made under the MRT Act. The standards of practice for each of the MRT specialties can be found on the College of Medical Radiation Techologists website, by selecting “Professional Practice” from the navigation bar.
