How much do I have to pay for licenses, service, and administration when I use MaxDB?
When you use MaxDB as a database for SAP Solutions, you pay a license fee amounting to 3% of the SAP application value plus a mandatory maintenance fee. However, thanks to the easy administration and low space requirements of MaxDB, additional costs are kept to a minimum. As of MaxDB 7.5, non-SAP applications can be hosted by MySQL and then go under their licensing model. For the MySQL license fees see http://www.mysql.com/products/licensing.html. SAP does not offer support for non-SAP applications.
