How much do EE Series Savings Bonds earn per year?
After 50 years of offering guaranteed minimum annual rates for Series EE Savings Bonds (the latest guaranteed rate, offered until last May 1, was 4 percent), the government has switched to a six-month, floating-rate system based on U.S. Treasury bill averages, with no minimum-rate guarantee. A Series EE bond bought from May through October came with a 5.25 percent rate. The rate was changed Nov. 1 to 4.75 percent.
