How much do Dog behaviourists cost?
It depends on the behaviorist. I consulted one to help me deal with my aggressive Rotti mix. She was a veterinarian who had done post-doctoral work in animal behavior (DVM, not PhD). I had to complete a 10 page questionnaire, which she reviewed before our session, and then paid $200 for the consultation, which lasted almost an hour and a half. This was in 2001. She did follow-up consultations and prescribed drugs for the life of my dog, including adjusting the Prozac and amitryptiline that Raj was on as needed. She gave me seven years with my dog that I would otherwise have not have had. I know many are against drug therapy for aggressive dogs, but we tried everything and this was the only thing that worked.
