How much do braces cost?
The average cost for a full set of braces in a typical two-year treatment is about $5,000 US. The cost varies depending on where you live. Major metropolitan areas tend to be slightly higher in cost than rural areas. Generally, metal braces cost less than ceramic ones. Invisalign treatment can be just as costly as traditional braces, and sometimes is even slightly more expensive. Here is a survey we did on the subject a few years ago.
It is impossible to give an exact cost of orthodontic treatment until Dr. Joseph has obtained full records and developed an individual treatment plan for your child. The exact cost and financial options available will be presented at the consultation appointment, usually several weeks after records are obtained. We offer several methods of payment, including monthly payments, credit card payments, and Orthodontists Fee Plan, a flexible extended payment plan with low interest rates. We also offer a discount for payment in full at the beginning of treatment.
Orthodontic fees will vary depending on the complexity of the bite problem. Bites with more severe problems usually require additional treatment time (and additional fees) than a less complicated bite. Some bites require expansion appliances while others do not. Because every person is different, each case is evaluated independently. At the first visit — if the patient is ready to start — we will estimate the fee and explain what is included. In addition, our staff will help devise a payment plan which best meets your needs. What payment options are available? In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established the following financial policy. Payments: • When treatment is started the day of the initial exam appointment, we will offer a $100 savings off your full orthodontic treatment fee. • When full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a 5% savings off any portion of the fee not covered by insuran
The cost of braces is determined by the estimated treatment time and overall complexity of the case. Because orthodontic problems vary greatly from person to person, the cost also varies significantly. One patient may require 6 months of treatment to correct a very minor problem, while another may require 30 months or more of treatment to correct a severe jaw discrepancy. Dr. Holbert can provide you with an estimate at the time of your initial exam, but the final treatment fee cannot be determined until your diagnostic records have been reviewed and a comprehensive plan has been developed.
