How much do aumotive/heavy equipment mechanics make in the military?
Military members are paid according to their rank. Although some specialties get extra pay, the base pay is all the same. A degree may get you an extra stripe out of basic training but the pay is still based on rank. (A degree may make you eligible for officer training which would bring more money than being enlisted.) An E-1 would get $1400 per month after basic training while an E-2 would get $1569. If you got a degree and became an officer you would start at around $2655. This is base pay. You may also get housing and subsistence allowance depending on circumstances.
