How much do attorneys charge in Social Security Disability cases?
There are a few ways that attorneys can charge clients in Social Security cases. In any event, the Social Security Administration must approve of all fee agreements. Generally, most attorneys charge 25% of past due benefits or $6,000, whichever is less. You do not have to pay the attorneys directly, rather the Social Security Administration will withhold the attorneys fees from the past due benefits. At Johnson & Nicholson, we typically use this type of fee arrangement.
