How much DG set required for for a 15 KW three phase AC motor, continues use ?
The continuous KW load on the generator is 15 / motor efficiency. The efficiency should be about about 0.9, so the KW load would be about 17 KW. The KVA load would be KW / power factor. Power factor should be about 0.8, so KVA load would be about 21 KVA. Depending on the generator design and the starting method, the generator may need to be oversized to successfully start the motor. Check the generator specifications or ask the generator supplier.
