How much Council Tax Rebate/Housing Benefit can be paid?

0

If you get income support and you have to pay rent and/or council tax, you can get the maximum amount of Housing Benefit/Council Tax rebate. However, your housing benefit/council tax rebate may not cover all of your rent/Council Tax liability because:- • Your level of income/personal circumstances (i.e. someone else is living in your home) used in the calculation may result in a reduced award of benefit • Your rent includes an amount for services such as fuel, meals, water charges, some support charges, personal care charges, personal cleaning and laundry. If your landlord can confirm in writing how much you pay for each of these services then we will reduce your Housing Benefit accordingly. If not, then we will use the standard amounts which are set by government each year. • The level of rent and size of your property may determine that the amount of Housing Benefit is restricted.
