Continuing Care Retirement Communities are perhaps the most expensive amongst the many different types of long-term care housing options. Monthly maintenance fees may range from anywhere from $300 to $2500, buy-in or entrance fees may range from $22,000 to $450,000. The latter depends on the following factors: Whether the resident rents or owns the living place Whether the living unit is for one or two individuals The size of the residence and where it is located The type of service plan chosen The services and amenities chosen The future risk of requiring intensive long-term care Residents sign a contract before they become part of the community residency. And since the contracts cannot be gone back upon in the future, it would be wise to seek legal advice prior to signing.
