After filling the radiator at the radiator cap on the radiator, run the car for at least 15 minutes with the radiator cap removed. This will help get the air out of the system. While doing this have the heater set to the full heat position but leave the fan off. This will make sure that an air pocket does not get left in the heater core. After the air is purged we always over filled the reservoir and there is a max and min mark on the reservoir. If you can’t see the marks just fill the tank to 2″ from the top. After sitting over night check the level again, no matter how well the system is purged of air it seems to always take more fluid from the reservoir. Set the coolant level to 3″ from the top of the reservoir to allow for expansion when the system is at operating temperature.
