The amount of compensation you receive for your whiplash injury depends on many factors. Your claim for compensation will be split into two parts – your claim for the actual pain and suffering you have undergone (or are still undergoing), called your ‘general damages’ and your claim for any losses and expenses you incur as a direct result of the accident (see below), called your ‘special damages’.
