How much CO2 will be injected each year?
It is estimated that a minimum of 1 million and up to 2.5 million metric tons of CO2 will be injected per year. As a result, the FutureGen Alliance is looking for sites that have the capacity to hold at least 50 million metric tonnes of CO2. The capacities of the four CO2 storage sites being proposed are all significantly greater than this amount.
