How much CO2 does an average household produce?
Based upon EDF Energy’s current generation mix, for every unit of energy that one of our customers use we estimate the following amount of CO2 emissions are produced. Electricity =0.527kg/kWh Gas= 0.19kg/kWh Consequently, in a year, a typical household on a standard electricity tariff and gas tariff will consume on average 3,300kWh of electricity and 20,500kWh of gas. This converts into a total of 5.63 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Our Climate Balance tariff is based around these figures and conversion factors.
