In Pennsylvania, child support is calculated under the Pennsylvania Support Guidelines, and is based on the incomes and/or earning capacities of both parties. However, many cases require deviations from the basic guideline figures, to take into account the costs of daycare, private school tuition, the cost of medical insurance, unusually high mortgage payments or other fixed obligations, support of multiple families, tax implications, and a host of other concerns.
