How much can I trim off CraftMaster molded interior doors to fit my opening?

You should not attempt to trim any more than 3/8″ (evenly) total from the height or width of a door. Typically, doors will have only 1″ thick stiles and rails. Trimming too much from the edges of the door may result in an insufficient amount of framing left to adequately support the door. Refer to the diagram here that explains how a CraftMaster molded door design is made. This can result in the door bowing or deflecting. If you trim more than this dimension, the warranty provided by the door manufacturer may be voided. Trimming a CraftMaster door voids the warranty.
