How much baking soda should I use in 8,000 gal pool to get the PH up???
Wrong, wrong, wrong. Baking soda is most certainly NOT the same as soda ash. The pH scale is logarithmic so there isn’t a formula for adding soda ash. You must do a “base demand” titration to know how much SODA ASH to add to bring the pH up to normal level. However, if the pH is low then you can bet the Total Alkalinity is, too. That’s what bicarb is for. Adjust total alkalinity first, then adjust pH.
