How much are the Oyster charges on London Transport buses?
You’re getting good and accurate answers. I just want to add a couple points. Oyster cards continue to work even if you haven’t used one for a long time. So your card will still work, but it won’t have any money on it. If you don’t use an Oyster card for 90 days, any credit that was left on it is zeroed out. So if you are leaving London and still have money on the Oyster, stop at a TFL window and get your money back. You can also turn in the card at the same time and get your initial deposit refunded. Officially, you didn’t “buy” your card. The card is free, and you put down a deposit of three quid. Yes, 90p per ride maxes out at 3 pounds for a day on the bus. If you use other transport (London Overground, London Underground, trams, DLR) your Oyster will never be charged in one day for more than the cost of a one-day pass, less 50p. So Oyster is cheaper even if you are doing enough travel to warrant a day pass. I’m an American living in London, and I just want to say, TFL rocks! I wish
