Building permit fees are based on the estimated construction cost of the project (including normal labor costs, even if the work is being done by the owner). Permit fees include: building permit fees, plan review fees, and a 12-percent state surcharge. The permit fee pays for the inspections made by the City inspectors, and the plans review fee pays for the review of the plans.
